Obama’s Tapper Test

Obama to Tapper

Jake Tapper’s, ABC News, set-up question to President Obama wreaks of right-wing chicanery. As soon as I heard his question, I wondered how many bills did Jake receive in order to ask it during this White House Press briefing? I imagined that the proposal  to Tapper went something like, “Ask Obama a question that makes it appear that he is both negligent and responsible for gun violence in America instead of the NRA”. Of course, Mr. Obama, as usual, deftly replied to Tapper. The Tapper question was just another example of the “Washington Spin Press”.

My question to Tapper, is where were your questions regarding gun violence two massacres ago…three, and why didn’t you direct them toward the NRA?  I read through some of the online commentary regarding this portion of the Q&A, and the comments were virulently hateful of Obama. I feel sorry for these people who make all these ugly comments online. These online commenters are symptomatic of a debased culture that’s contributing to people who think they should shoot and kill innocent people. Bottom line, the NRA is the organization with blood on its hands.

Politico reports that Rush Limbaugh gave Tapper kudos for his so-called “zinger” question. Now you know if Limbaugh liked it, then something is very foul. The Politico article characterizes Obama’s response to Tapper as testy. Read my blog post entitled, “Governing While Black” to understand why I think this noteworthy. All I can say regarding Obama’s carriage in response to Tapper, “you’re daggone skippy”. Translation: Obama’s response was appropriate.

Ambassador Susan Rice Withdraws

Rice WithdrawalIn my time, I’ve seen most women, especially minority women Democrats rejected, verbally attacked and the content of their character assailed by these right wing Republican “Dixiecrats”. Senators like Lindsay Graham defends that slave-owning rag they call the Confederate Flag. It took the nomination of Barack Obama for President before John McCain claimed he was wrong for 25 years in voting against the Martin Luther King national holiday resolution passed through the Senate. They attacked Anita Hill and assailed the content of her character just to place an unqualified “Uncle Thomas” on the US Supreme Court. They went after a very qualified Lani Guinier for Attorney General because she is a Civil Rights Activist. They verbally attacked Hillary Clinton as First Lady because she championed causes and spoke out and dared not to act like a Republican Stepford Wife.

Both Lindsay Graham, John McCain and others put Sonia Sotomayor through the mill for saying “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life”. What did Justice Sotomayor say that wasn’t true, especially considering they are the very same white males of which she speaks? Condoleezza Rice was nothing less than inept as secretary of state, yet the very same “Dixiecrats” dare attack a scholar like Ambassador Susan Rice. And now, that Ambassador Rice has withdrawn, we get both John McCain and Lindsay Graham hypocritically wishing her well and respecting her decision – those dirty bottom dwelling bastards. I’m not going to stand on eloquence to express how loathsome these bigoted bastards really are. I’m going to call them for what they are, dirty women hating (expletive deleted).

Republican Attacks on Dr. Susan Rice are Dubious

Republicans simply need to reconcile themselves to the fact that Barack Obama is “still” the President. This Op Ed by The Washington Post Editorial Board plainly speaks to the reasons for the strange and dubious attacks against Dr. Susan Rice by House Republicans. This trumped-up scandal pertaining to the Benghazi Embassy tragedy is further evidence that the current lame-duck Congress has no inention of working with President Obama, but they better get it together or face the consequences of going over the fiscal cliff.

The Truth About Attacks on Our Diplomats

—By Adam Serwer | Wed Oct. 3, 2012 2:00 AM PDT

As horrible as the attack was on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Lybia, it was not the first time a U.S. embassy has been attacked resulting in the loss of American lives. If you don’t know history or only listen to Republicans, who have shamefully politicized this incident due to election 2012 and their hatred for President Obama, you would be fooled into thinking that our embassies have never before been attacked, breached or otherwise endangered. Or that this incident would not have happened under a Republican administration. Not so. This article by Adam Serwer of Mother Jones sheds light on the Benghazi attack and places it into its historical context. For the last 40 years since the Nixon administration, U.S. embassies and diplomats have been targets regardless of which political party occupied the White House.

“…no matter which party is in office, no matter who is president, terrorism and violence are always going to be a potential risk for foreign-service officers serving in troubled areas.”

Palin, Trump continue to lead right-wing hate party against Obama

Palin tweeted today, “Obama’s Shuck and Jive Ends With Benghazi Lies.” This woman sets women back and simply needs to shut her ignorant mouth. What a clown, racist she is. See what Hardball’s Christ Matthews had to say about Palin and Trump’s latest shamockery (made up word credit to Toni W.).

Palin, Trump continue to lead right-wing hate party against Obama.

Obama for the WIN!

At my count, Obama/Biden won three of the four debates. Last night was a clear win for Mr. Obama. Romney knew full well that he has no juice when it comes to foreign policy, and that’s why he agreed with everything Obama said. Romney is studying the focus groups and knows striking a more passive, less strident tone was what he needed to do last night. Romney is no longer playing the war hawk that the extreme right wing have been pushing. In fact he’s pulling out all the stops to garner votes by any means necessary. One thing I can say about Romney, the Plutocrat, he knows how to lie and successfully manipulate. This is how he has done business all these years. He simply pitches and becomes what he thinks the given audience wants.

Obama said it right last night, Romney is all over the map, but not just on foreign policy, on everything. I am not deceived by this skillful, mendacious candidate named Mitt Romney. There is no shame in Romney so don’t look for it. James Lipton said it this way today, Romney is a boss and not a President. Just because you conjure up imagery of looking presidential in order to beguile the weak minded or uninformed does not mean you are qualified to lead the United States and by extension the free world.

Regardless of these debates, it all comes down to Ohio. Obama’s street cred in that state is good, even with white men, which is not the trend. White men continue to not support this president en masse, and I expect it will be the same on November 6th. Mitt has consistently lied through his six years running for the presidency, but the white guys still really love him. Romney speaks their language. Let’s face it, we are simply not post-racial in America.

I keep thinking that folks decided in 2008 to try the black guy, but in 2009 an insidious plot was launched against Obama with all maliciousness, and because that plot had some effect, impacting economic recovery, now it’s let’s get rid of the black guy for some of those same people. Nevermind that there are numerous signs of economic recovery. The plot, by the way, is called Republican Tea Party Sedition aka just-say-no-to-the-black-guy -on-everything-he-proposes. Sick. Seditious Tea Party Republicans would rather tank the economy than see the first black president succeed. What a shock that the south overwhelmingly supports Romney–it’s a solid blood red. What a shock at the level of racist rhetoric thrown at Mr. Obama during this campaign.

I am not deterred. Here’s my prediction, Obama is going to win. The Republican propaganda money machine will have wasted all that money. Teehee. We need to move FORWARD and not allow a worst Republican than George Bush into the driver’s seat. It would be like letting the fox guard the hen house. We don’t need a boss who likes firing people and doesn’t care about 47% of the population, we need a real leader who cares about 100% of the people. The United States needs Barack Obama.

The New Republican Conspiracy

Today, Jack Welch became the latest spokesperson for the Republican Party’s conspiracy theorists. The Jobbers, as they are being called, are now the latest of the many fringe elements of the Party. Just a few days ago the conspiracy theorists were bringing the allegation of rigged polling, of course, because all the polls favored Obama. Now with today’s report of the unemployment rate falling to 7.8% in September, JW thinks that the numbers are “unbelievable”. Only minutes after today’s official unemployment rate announcement by the Labor Department, JW was tweeting his nonsense, and he didn’t stop there. He followed up his tweet with further ridiculous commentary implying that the President’s camp somehow had changed the numbers. Chris Matthews of MSNBC tried to get him to walk back his verbal attacks that implied that the numbers were rigged by the “Chicago guys”. Of course, JW refused to back down. What a surprise.

Is this guy serious? Yes. These Republicans actually believe their own lies and rhetoric. Take Allen West, for example. As an African American, I find Allen West to be the worst kind of African American politician. Allen West is a black version of Newt Gingrich, a blowhard who is always trying to be seen and heard by making the most audacious and ridiculous of commentary. He was so quick to agree with Welch and add fuel to the fire when every sensible person not only found JW’s comments implausible, but ludicrous.

What the Republican conspiracy theorists won’t talk about, or more than likely, it’s that they just don’t know about it, is that the Bureau of Labor Statistics produces the unemployment rate under strict security so as to not influence financial markets. In fact, the data was compiled prior to Wednesday’s presidential debate, and according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report, the data is locked down for a whole week prior to making the information public.

The fact that the rate dropped by three-tenths of a percent in a month (August rate was 8.1%) is reportedly not unusual and has happened many times in the last decade. According to Joel Naroff, president of Naroff Economic Advisors, “at least once a year, you should expect that large a move”.

What these Republicans hate is that they were stripped today of one of their main talking points. The unemployment rate is the lowest it has been in four years and it is now officially under 8%. Apparently, we are better off than we were four years ago. Oh, I guess that Republican talking point is gone now too. Two Republican talking points destroyed with one unemployment report…gotta love it.

I know a lot of people were freaking out about Obama’s debate performance this past Wednesday, but, Obama’s debate performance will not make or break his campaign. JW disingenuously linking today’s unemployment rate announcement as a cover for Obama’s lackluster debate showing is just stupid. These two things have no bearing one upon the other, and to link them is nothing less than slanderous and disrespectful to President Obama.

Today, Republican fears have come into fruition, because the unemployment rate announcement of 7.8% clearly establishes and validates that Obama is moving the country in the right direction. That’s good news for Dems and bad news for thems. FORWARD.
